The doorway
Before the Compass, four structural commitments
These are not promises we mean to keep. They are how the architecture is built. They are testable, published as engineering invariants, and enforced by the database. Read them. If they are the kind of product you want to be inside, acknowledge once below; we will not ask again.
Commitment 1
Silence by default
The One sends at most a handful of notifications, all of them load-bearing. There are no engagement emails, no "we miss you" sequences, no weekly digests. The notification service refuses anything outside the allowlist.
Commitment 2
In person within fourteen days
Once an introduction is released, the parties meet in person within fourteen days, or the introduction expires. The product does not permit indefinite text conversation in place of meeting.
Commitment 3
Declining-symmetric six-month cooldown
After an introduction concludes, both parties enter a six-month cooldown before being eligible to be considered again. There is no premium tier that shortens it. The database has no schema for one.
Commitment 4
Decoupled pricing
The Compass is $199, once. Introductions are separate and are not sold in this flow. There is no tier that buys priority, visibility, or attention.
The canonical document
The four above are the user-facing summary. The full seven commitments (the document referenced by the Terms of Service and by the PBC's public benefit purpose) appear here verbatim.
